Newmarket has been acknowledged as the Horseracing Capital of the World. I visited here 3 times, in June 1993, August 1994 and August 1995. I joined a tour run by Japanese travel agency following the Derby Day in 1993. In the following years I came here on my own. The first time when I saw races was in 1995, that was my third visit there. There are 2 courses here, the Rowley Mile and the July Course. When I was there in 1995, races took place on the July Course. It is huge grass land. I tried walking the whole course and I did it. It was very tiring. |
