We were lectured on horse, and were taught to play a game for communication with horse. It is called 7 Games. The purpose of this game is to make good relationship and trust between human and horses. When we handle horses, they are very important. We made pairs and practiced this game. It was amazing.

At the volunteer residence

Our residence was close to the stable, taking 3 minutes on foot. Regarding food, we shared meal preparation and cooking. There were many blackberry trees near our house, so we did blackberry hunting after the daily works.

On the last day, we enjoyed 2-hour beach ride near the foundation. They were not Foundation's horses. They were riding club's horses. Riding style was Western. It was easy but really exciting.

Many books and magazines on horses are published in America and Europe, and many publishers have contacted Equine Research Foundation. This investigation is mainly routine work. We volunteers can join it for a short term, but it is so hard to continue it for many years. But probably it is easy to do that because they love horses.

Unfortunately this project was not recognized as an Earthwatch's project in '98. Because Earthwatch decided to focuses wild and endangered animals, ecological and social issues. But Equine Research Foundation continues this study. Some parts are reviewed but it is more exciting. Of course horseback rides are provided.
